Head Coach: Chad Castillo
I am tremendously excited to be the new head coach of Los Tibs! I began my swimming here at the age of 9 and because of the fun that I had in those summers, I have made swimming a major part of my life.
While still continuing to swim for Los Tibs I went on to swim year round for TTAC and become a high school all American for Salpointe. After my swimming career I began coaching, helping out with the Salpointe men's program, Catalina Terrace SAAA team, and Flowing Wells High school. I am now teaching at Maxwell Middle School and am the head coach of the Salpointe Women's swim team.
I am looking forward to a fun summer full of new friends and fast swimming!

Asst. Coach: Laura Utsch Moore
"When I was 7, I spent the entire summer at the pool. That was the beginning of a life in love with the water. That summer I started swimming competitively and have yet to stop. Having great coaches helped me qualify for Eastern Zones when I was 12 and Junior Nationals when I was 13. For college I swam at BYU on a swim scholarship. It wasn't until I started coaching in 2002 that I realized how crucial coaching is to develop the talents in their swimmers. As a coach, technique is my passion and teaching efficiently and solidly is my goal. Obviously, I love swimming, I love efficient swimming, I love good teaching of swimming, and I love to see the progress of swimmers when they just go for it. It is a joy to watch and be a part of."

I have had the privledge to coach hundreds of children in multiple sports. My athletic passion is the water and swimming and I love passing that passion to the eight and unders! Work outs for the little Los Tibs will be a combination of technique, cardio, and strength training through dry lands and water time (with a few sessions of silliness, goofiness, and fun in the water.) I have been involved with swimming for my entire life and have been teaching, participating, or coaching competative swimming for over 30 years. I am also a teacher at an elementary during the school year and have taught K – 8th grade. Personally I still train for the La Jolla Rough Water swim each year, therefore I maintain a knowledge basis of current training and stroke techniques. I was formerly a state record holder, as well as a collegiate swimmer. I truly love the sport of swimming and love to pass along a solid foundation to each of the swimmers at the level most appropriate to them.
